Knowing specifically which radio you are trying to interface with would be helpful. OP, you probably don't have the cable wired correctly. What am I doing wrong? Do I need some other sort of cable to connect a VX to an iPhone? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge. When I connect my iPhone the adapter and the cable and then plug the cable into the side of the VX the red light, indicating transmission, stays constantly lit. iPhone with a lightning adapter to female 3.5mm trss cable connected to a 3.5 mm cable which then plugs into my VX radio. Is there a cable that I can buy that I can plug into my pit radio and then connect it to an iPhone? Once connected to my phone we could then use the Zello walkie talkie app to let the rest of the pit crew monitor communications on their cell phones I have purchased an adapter that lets me plug a 3.5 mm trrs cable into the phones' lightning port. I have additional crew members that are not equipped with radios who would like to listen in on the pit-to-car communication. I have several Vertex Standard radios that get used at a race track to communicate between our race car and the pit crew.
